Need help after upgrade from 2.9 to 3.1

hi,

i'm a bit confused:

last week do i a update with the cd-sets from 2.9 to 3.1
the mschine is running, the firewall is update, all services are online.
my problem:

yesterday i would backed a new kernel.
ergo, i do a cd /usr; make src; cd src; tar xvfz /mnt/cdrom/src.tar.gz.
all sources installed, cd /usr/src/sys/arch/i386/conf; cp GERNERIC
NEWKERNEL; vi NEWKERNEL. then a config NEWKERNEL, cd
../compile/NEWKERNEL; make clean:

ERROR:
mkdir -p /usr/src/sys/arch/i386/compile/BSTX/lib/kern
mkdir: Is a directory
*** Error code 1 (ignored)
echo: Is a directory
*** Error code 1

Stop in /usr/src/sys/arch/i386/compile/BSTX (line 44 of
/usr/src/sys/arch/i386/compile/BSTX/../../../../lib/libkern/Makefile.inc).

still confused, read the openbsd site - upgrade mini faq, do update the
make; do a rm /usr/obj; cd /usr/src; make obj - going wonderfull.
then back to kernel-compile-directory, make depend:

ERROR:
 make depend
mkdir -p /usr/src/sys/arch/i386/compile/BSTX/lib/kern
mkdir: Is a directory
*** Error code 1 (ignored)
echo: Is a directory
*** Error code 1

Stop in /usr/src/sys/arch/i386/compile/BSTX (line 48 of
/usr/src/sys/arch/i386/compile/BSTX/../../../../lib/libkern/Makefile.inc).

i think *shit* and search with google around the problem - nothing found
:(

okay, lets do a port update.. cvs........, cd /usr/ports/net/wget; make

ERROR
 make
rm: Is a directory
*** Error code 1

Stop in /usr/ports/net/wget (line 1558 of
/usr/ports/infrastructure/mk/bsd.port.mk).

a cvs update is running, but will not work..
whats is wrong? i can do a system patching, this works fine - all
patches for 3.1 are install'd with no problems.

whats is the problem on this machine - is the perl package destroyed?
please help, this machine is a finance machine with postgres and mysql.

thanks
