savecore dumps core file on boot (swap related?)

Everytime I (re)boot savecore insists on writing a dump core
on /var/crash:

savecore: reboot
Dec 19 16:08:34 tanit savecore: reboot
savecore: system went down at Mon Dec 17 18:05:02 2001
savecore: writing core to: /var/crash/bsd.19.core
savecore: writing kernel to: /var/crash/bsd.19

(the date and time of the crash, 17 18:05:02, is the same
everytime, just the # number changes).

Since, according to Nick Holland, this might be related to
swap not being correctly cleaned, I booted on single user
mode and newfs on sd0b and wd0b. But savecore is persisting.

Does anyone know how this could be solved or if it could be
related to something different?
