pciide error question

Hi,

I've got a machine which is exhibiting the pciide bugginess described 
in the FAQ.  The disk is seen as a DMA-4 and then it steps down to 
DMA-3 each time with the "soft error" message.  Always to DMA-3.  The 
way I read the FAQ is that as long as it doesn't do anything more than 
that, or hang the system, then it's not that big a deal.  Is that a 
correct interpretation of the condition?  Or should I be concerned 
about using the disk as normal?
