Did it sound like a couple of empty coke cans dangling off the
rear of a car? ;-)) if it did take a look inside. You Will see
that the arms have spun off the platters:-)) Recall having sweaty
fingers when that happened. Since i had not backed up a lot of
my work on that station. But the happy ending was that all ended
well. The hard drive cratered ooh.. about 30 seconds after i
had pulled everything that mattered off:-]
(i could actually hear the platters spinning off as they got the
info for the last time.) AFAIK this behaviour is identical on all
BSDs. Something to do with the fs;->
