The "Bad Magic" error occurs when the kernel is on a partition spanning the
1024 cylinder boundary. However, for the partition 3 error, I think "the
many hours lost" could be prevented if the OpenBSD install process made more
noise about this issue. A warning about some BIOSes, an option to install an
alternative bootloader, or even just a pointer to the faq or the fdisk /mbr
cure could save a lot of people a lot of time.
