problem with sep 2 snapshot (X problem)

I configured X to work with my GeForce3...looks great.  Only problem is
getting xdm to work.  Usually I can configure xdm to work by simply
setting up the config var in /etc/rc.conf, but this time I get this error
on system boot:

/usr/libexec/ld.so:  xdm:  libutil.so.6.0:  No such file or directory

Anybody able to shed some light on this, help a guy out?
