Install problems on i386

hi,

The install appears to go ok, but on the first boot I get 2 errors.

first even though I'm using all scsi, it claims to be booting off of
hd0a when it should be booting off of sd0a. it continues to boot
however.

second, after it passes the "mtrr: Pentium Pro MTRR Support" line
I get the following messages.

Timedout SCB handled by another timeout.
Timedout SCB handled by another timeout
ahc1: Issued channel A Bus Reset. 1 SCBs aborted
sd0(ahc1:0:0): SCB 0x1d timed-out in message-out phase, SEQADDR = 0x151
sd0(ahc1:0:0): BDR message in message buffer
sd0(ahc1:0:0): SCB 0x1d timed-out in message-out phase, SEQADDR = 0x151

This repeats until it panics the kernel.

sorry for no dmesg but here is the releveant hardware info.

motherboard: ASUS A7V-133
cpu: duron 850
scsi controller: AHA-2940
scsi harddrive: SX910800N
