They assign IP Addresses based on computer name, not IP Address.

Thanks a bunch for the many replies that you folks have made.
One other question I had, I don't think I saw it in any of the replies,
I
had heard that some of the cable companies link your account to your MAC
address, and if your MAC address changes they have to reinitialize your
service again, and you have to pay another installation fee. (So, if you
change your network card, change your machine, stick a router on the
connection, etc, then you have to pay another $50 or whatever.)
Is that accurate info?
