VMWare / 2.9 / Vaio / Aironet

Sorry: I first posted this in HTML format. I forgot to check before hitting
the send button. Please forgive me. :)

I'm having difficulty getting OBSD to run as a guest os using VMWare and
Win2K as the host. Specifically, I can't get the network running. My setup
is as follows:

Sony Vaio Z505 dual boot Win2k and OBSD 2.9-release with an Cisco Aironet
350.

I installed OBSD 2.9 via ftp in its own partition and it works fine when
booting directly into OBSD. I want to run OBSD in VMWare with Win2K as the
host and OBSD as the guest OS. I've setup VMWare to boot the OBSD partion
and it boots without complaint, however I can't get the lance (le1)
interface working. I've triple checked ip addresses and config files
(hostname.le1, mygate, hosts, etc), but I can't ping any other machine. I
get the following:

ping: sendto: Host is down
ping: wrote 172.16.1.1 64 chars, ret=-1

Under the VMWare configuration editor, I have three ethernet adapters. I've
tried enabling each one (one at a time) and get the same results.

I've checked the archives and see that some problems with the lance driver
were fixed in 2.8, but I didn't see any posts regarding 2.9. Can any suggest
how I can diagnose this further?

TIA,
-Kurt
