How to make personal snapshots

Hello ,

I would like to know the procedures to make the personal snapshots as my
link to internet is a very low one (56k dailup to isp).  It is not easy
for me to keep track of the snapshots.  However, I use the ctm to update
my system (i386), so I would like to know the way to do it.  Thanks.
