Interesting. A quick search on Excite found a nice little url that
has a 'world' java app for traceroutes. For those interested in a
quick look can go here:
http://visualroute.datametrics.com/
Anyway, while checking "www.openbsd.org", visualroute's diagnostics
reveals:
=-=-=-
Analysis: 'www.openbsd.org' was found in 16 hops (TTL=237). But,
problems starting at hop 15 in network "Telus Advanced
Communications" are causing IP packets to be dropped. Connections to
HTTP port 80 are being rejected.
=-=-=-
As stated - the problem isn't the site - its the route to the site,
or a router/connection within the University of Alberta.
The reason "openbsd.org" works is because "openbsd.org" has the same
ip as "cvs.openbsd.org", and fortunately on a different subnet and
route the "www.openbsd.org".
Hope they fix it soon!
