Problems with Adaptec 2940U on 2.8-current

I have quite a few problems with my OpenBSD box that has a PCI Adaptec
2940U scsi card in it. When the machine boots, I get the following on
my terminal:

ahc0 at pci0 dev 11 function 0 "Adaptec AHA-2940U" rev 0x00: irq 10
ahc0: Wide Channel A, SCSI Id=7, 16/255 SCBs
scsibus1 at ahc0: 16 targets
ahc0: board is not responding
cmd fail
probe(ahc0:0:0): SCB 0x1d - timed out in Message-out phase, SEQADDR == 0x155
probe(ahc0:0:0): BDR message in message buffer
sd0 at scsibus1 targ 0 lun 0: <, , > SCSI0 0/direct fixed
sd0: drive offline

and it sits there for a while, then continue to boot. I only have a
CDRW drive on that controller. That machine used to run FreeBSD, and I
noticed that the driver waited 15 seconds for the drives to settle, then
continue to proceed. If I tried to reduce the time it waited, I had
about the same results as I now have with OpenBSD.

I'm running 2.8-current as of April 7th.

Anyone has an idea ?
