weird usb mouse problem with xf4.0.2 in 2.8

I am using a USB trackball with xf4.0.2 in 2.8.  Occasionally, X thinks I'm
highlighting and pasting when I'm not.	This has caused me to flood IRC
channels several times.  I think this occurs when other things are using
the CPU.  Does anyone know of a solution, or was this fixed in current?
