Hi all,
I am trying to setup ipf between two networks. The box is running 2.7 with
two 3Com nic. Based on the documentation that I have read, I have amended
/etc/rc.conf => ipfilter=YES and ipfilter_rules=/etc/ipf.rules. I have also
enabled net.inet.ip.forwarding=1 in /etc/sysct1.conf
Right now, I am using the default rules which allows anything to pass
through between the two networks. However, I am unable to ping or telnet
through the firewall from one network to another. I have run tcpdump on the
two nic cards and found that the traffic was not pass through. It stopped at
the nic that was connected to the network that I ran ping on. As I am new to
this, I hope that you guys can shed some light on what have I done wrong.
Thanks in advance.
Regards,
Richard
