NFS problems

Hi again,
with showmount -e server I get a new error
showmount: clnttcp_create: RPC: Port mapper failure - RPC: Timed out
I don't seem to be having very much luck :(
IPF wouldn't have anything to do with these kind of errors would it?
... it's just a thought.
