sparcstation ipx, a little OT

An old Sparcstation IPX has become available for a lab box and I want
to put OpenBSD on it. I gather that OpenBSD is available for Sparc but
I'd like to know whether it will run OK as a simple server (I doubt
I'd be running X on it).

Also the box itself maybe a bit sick, any comments on the following
boot sequence ?

Sparcstation IPX, Type 4 keyboard
ROM Rev. 2.4 40 MB Memory
Ethernet Address ff:ff:ff:ff:ff:ff, Hostid ffffffff

The IDPROM contents are invalid

SBus slot 0 le esp dma
SBus slot 1
SBus slot 2 lebuffer dma le esp
SBus slot 3 cgsix

Boot device: /sbus/le_(_at_)_0,c0000 File and args:
Internal loopback test --
Did not receive expected loopback packet
Can't open boot device

Type 'b' to boot, 'c' to continue, 'n' to enter new command mode

I can boot off the local disk as well (good 'ol SunOS 4.1.3), and the
machine comes up, but while doing so complains "Invalid format type in
NVRAM".

Is the machine hosed or worth some effort ?

Thanks,
Richard Bignell
