I'm trying to build a firewall box, just a couple of network cards
and a modem. No plans to run X.
I've tried installing 2.6 on 3 boxes, a $400 ion box from Indybox,
and two different used 486 boxes with no success. Can't finish
the installation because of CDROM read problems or installboot
problems.
My next strategy is to buy or build a box that by design *is*
compatible with 2.6 and the install program. I've got the hardware
list from the OpenBSD website that will serve me well if
I decide to build a box myself.
Can anyone suggest a mail-order place that will sell me a basic
box at a reasonable price?
