X problems

Hello:

I am having a lot of problems getting X to run. Basically, no matter what
I do I get the following error:

(--) checkDevMem: warning: failed to mmap /dev/xf86 (Invalid argument)
	linear framebuffer access unavailable

Fatal server error:
xf86MapVidMem: Could not mmap /dev/vga (Invalid argument)

I have both XSERVER, and APERTURE in the kernel, and machdep.allowaperture
set to 1 in sysctl.conf (if I do a 'sysctl machdep.allowaperture' from the
command line, it echos back a 1, so I know it's setting it right).

I'm using the newest version of XFree (I just rebuilt from source this
morning) under OpenBSD 2.6. I have a custom kernel that's running fine.
My video card is a Trident GUI 9680 with 1024K on board.

Does anyone have any (helpfull) suggestions? I've been beating myself up
over this one for a while. The only troubleshooting tips that I can find
just say to make sure APERTURE is in the kernel, and allowaperture is set
to 1.

Thanks in advance.

-Joe.
