I have an old Sound Blaster 16 card that works under 2.6-current but sounds
really crappy. I specified the drq2 value in the kernel config file but that
didn't help the sound quality. The audioctl program gives the following info:
name=SoundBlaster
version=4.11
config=SB_16
encodings=ulinear:8,mulaw:8*,alaw:8*,slinear:8,slinear_le:16,ulinear_le:16,
slinear_be:16*,ulinear_be:16*
properties=full_duplex,mmap,independent
full_duplex=0
fullduplex=0
blocksize=400
hiwat=163
lowat=122
monitor_gain=0
mode=
play.rate=8000
play.channels=1
play.precision=8
Should the play.rate be that low? If not, how do you permanently change it?
Michael
