clarification

So I guess to clarify my last message.. From what I can tell, ifconfig
provides no way to change interface MTU (which it should, right?)

Is there even a way to change the kernel's idea of an interface MTU?  But
then what if I have two different interfaces (as I do), and I want them to
have different MTUs?
