Instabilities with Oct 31 snapshot

I'm experiencing certain instabilities with the new harddisk driver
included in the Oct 31 snapshot, which is AFAIK the release version.

The problem normally occurs when the disk is heavily used, that is, when
I open a bigger eMail-folder (OpenBSD with ~12 MB) or uncompressing a
bigger tar archive or fetching mail or something like that. I can't see
whether there are any error messages or if I am thrown into gdb because
I normally work with X11.

The actual problem is that the system just freezes. I can't do anything
thereafter, moving my mouse has no effect, I can't type anything,
nothing changes on the screen. I have to reset the computer to get it
back working. There are often some foregoing error messages as the one
you can see in my dmesg which occured when I had to fsck the last time.

I don't know what exactly the cause of this problem is, please tell me
what I can do to find this out.

BTW, I'm quite sure it's not the harddisk because this is the second
drive that shows up these problems and it worked with 2.5. Here comes
the dmesg:

OK, that's it, thanks in advance. I'm quite tired of hanging systems,
and I'd hate to switch to FreeBSD because of this.
