secure POP3

Hi all,

I'm trying to get my obsd laptop to pull POP3 mail without sending clear text
passwds.  I've looked at the fetchmail docs on how to do this with ssh
port forwarding, but once I do the port forwarding, then what?

Is there a better way to do this?  Thanks
