My system is configured to reject any incoming connection unless
it's to port 25 or 53. ipmon is used to log all blocked connections.
Here's a logfile entry which made me curious:
@0:28 b 220.127.116.11,25 -> 18.104.22.168,1524 PR tcp len 20 52 -AF
This happens when I send e-mail to a hotmail address. Does anyone
know what this might be? maillog shows:
relay=mail6.hotmail.com. [22.214.171.124], stat=Sent
so it's a different address. Can someone explain this to me?
Does the hotmail host "answer" from a different IP address?
