CVS and cvs modules...

I've installed at home an OpenBSD 2.3 (Is the better I could get from my
school).
And now I'm trying to update it with cvs.
I want to update it using cvs modules because I don't wanna get any arch
sources but i386.
I listed the modules and I realize that there are two 'kind' of modules:
i386 src/sys/arch/i386
ksrc-i386 -a src/sys/arch/i386
What's the difference between them?
And I can get for example ksrc-i386 with: cvs get ksrc-i386
but How can I upload using modules?
I get this:
lab# cvs up ksrc-i386
/usr/X11R6/bin/xauth: timeout in locking authority file
/open/anoncvs/.Xauthority
cvs server: nothing known about ksrc-i386
lab#

What does the first error mean ?

And CVS 'EATS' my bandwith while checking out, I cannot even make a
ping, I'm using a 56k USRobotics modem and my CVS server is near me (in
the same city). Is there any problem so solve that ?
Thank you...

PS: My questions are a bit basic, I've been with OpenBSD less than three
weeks but with Linux more than 2 years.
