If you're I/O-bound, why would you pay for a second CPU?
I'm in a theoretical math department. I happen to know several people
who paid for dual-Pentium systems so they could do more computations.
They've been running Linux. They've recently suffered breakins. They'd
be happy to give OpenBSD a whirl if that didn't mean giving up a CPU.
