Greetings,
I've just installed OpenBSD 2.2 on a DecStation 5000/33 (pmax) to be used as a
NTP-server.
(I've just copied the 'xntpd' and 'ssh' files from the 'ports'-directory
, did 'make ; make install' and everything compiled and ran like
a ice-cream. Congratulations to the OpenBSD team).
But, as I like to install these boxes in a remote computer-room, I
would like these boxes to boot 'automatically'.
Now, when I boot the DECstation, I first need to type in my
'root-partition' (rz3), and do a 'control D' to start in multi-user
mode.
What do I need to do to bypass this? recompile the kernel? Where do I get
the kernel-code? Can't just someboby 'bake' me a correct kernel?
Can't I just 'debug' the kernel to bypass this. (change some value somewhere
in the kernel-binary?)
(Perhaps an idea for the kernel-development-people. Why not use some
'bootprompt' parameter?)
Cheerio! Kr. Bonne.
