Greetings and Salutations,
I am currently trying to compile Xemacs-19.16 onto a DECstation 3100
running OpenBSD. After much hardship I got the thing to compile using
the mips-dec-ultrix configuration (OpenBSD is ultrix compatible correct?)
Anyway, when I tried to install it using a make install I got this:
strip: /usr/local/lib/xemacs-19.16/mips-dec-ultrix/rcs2log: File format not recognized
install: stripping /usr/local/lib/xemacs-19.16/mips-dec-ultrix/rcs2log: No such file or directory
strip: /usr/local/lib/xemacs-19.16/mips-dec-ultrix/vcdiff: File format not recognized
..... (a whole lot of "File format not recognized"
install: stripping /usr/local/lib/xemacs-19.16/mips-dec-ultrix/tmdecode: No such file or directory
gmake[1]: *** [/usr/local/lib/xemacs-19.16/mips-dec-ultrix] Error 71
gmake[1]: Leaving directory `/usr/ports/editors/xemacs/work/xemacs-19.16/lib-src'
gmake: *** [install-arch-dep] Error 2
*** Error code 2
Stop.
*** Error code 1
Stop.
*** Error code 1
Stop.
I was wondering if anyone has gotten Xemacs to compile on a DECstation 3100
running OpenBSD. If so, could you please give me which version, and anythin
you had to do to get it compiled and installed.
Thank you very much for any help,
Daniel Colpi
