Slow console

Hi !

I'm running OpenBSD/pmax-current on a 
Decstation 5000/33 with the on-board grafics.
The terminal-emulation I'm using is cons50,
because normal vt1xx, vt2xx ... don't work
on the wide 50 line display of my station.

But text displays horrible slow, if I page
through a file with more, every new page
needs 6 s to display.
Is this normal, or can I speed up the console ??

Under X11, text scrolls fast in an xterm.

Any clues ?
