Hi,
Could you try compiling a kernel with I2C_DEBUG in
/sys/dev/i2c/i2c_scan.c turned on? Just change
#undef I2C_DEBUG
into
#define I2C_DEBUG
and recompile.
Also, could you (with iic* at alipm? enabled) try booting booting the
laptop when it is running on battery and not plugged in? We've seen a
laptop that powered off when plugged in, but worked ok when running on
battery.
