panic(?) when doing fsck on usb2 HD

Hello,

I have OpenBSD 3.7 (from CD-ROM) and -stable patches installed, and it runs normally on this machine until this crash. I recently added a USB 2.0 PCI card to this machine (IOGear GIC220U; "Acer Labs" in the dmesg, I think), and I've plugged in an external USB2 200 GB LaCie drive.

I can get this machine to crash every time if I follow this procedure:

1. Boot machine.
2. Log in, type "sudo fsck /dev/sd1a"
3. I will see the following on the screen-- the problem always appears during "Phase 5" of an fsck:

-bash-3.00$ sudo fsck /dev/sd1a
** /dev/rsd1a
** Last Mounted on /mnt/lacie
** Phase 1 - Check Blocks and Sizes
INCORRECT BLOCK COUNT I=2617222 (72 should be 0)
CORRECT? [yn] y

** Phase 2 - Check Pathnames
** Phase 3 - Check Connectivity
** Phase 4 - Check Reference Counts
** Phase 5 - Check Cyl groups
Stopped at apm_cpu_idle+0x4a: leal 0xfffffff4(%ebp),%esp

ddb{1}>

Apologies in advance if this was fixed in -current. I do not have the liberty of testing (during regular work hours, at least) on this machine, as it is a production machine.

Now, however, if I run "boot dump", I seem to get a kernel panic. Of course, this may have something to do with my limited understanding of ddb (just following the instructions in the FAQ, here). I'll run through all of the trace, ps, show registers stuff again, too:

Now, if I run "boot dump" again, I get the following message:

dumping to dev 401, offset 6288793
dump area improper

But I suspect this last bit has something to do with me not having configured a place to actually put a dump file.

Thanks! Let me know if I can supply any additional information.
