Please help: Did ANYONE manage to get a swiss german keyboard
layout to work with the XFree windows system??? Perhaps with
the old version 3.3.6?
If so please let me know how you did it!
there is a de_CH keymap shipped with XFree86 4.x as included in OpenBSD
3.6. Afaict it has been there since OpenBSD 2.9, and it works for me (at
least the 'z' is at the right place, I don't remember the standard swiss
german keyboard layout otherwise).
The cards I have in my running machines at home are not supported by the
old XFree86 3.3.6, so I can't test if it also works with the old server,
but in theory XKB configs are compatible with both servers.
I've no idea why it doesn't work for you and the general tone of your
message(s) doesn't give me any motivation to try to help you debug it.
Do your homework or go back to the OS you were using before if it made
you more happy.
Tchuss.
