well, i guess i could, but there is a difference (an obvious one is
it implies -d). what the other differences actually do, i don't know :).
you will have to ask the freebsd guys (or read the code). but they must
have thought it was useful or else they wouldn't have added it (one
hopes). if most people think it wasteful then ignore it, but it is here
if wanted. :)
