Just for your information - I solved the problem by hand:
At the end of the miniroot install the installation script
tries to copy the kernel to the newly created root partition
using 'cp /netbsd [..]'. As you might know your kernel is no
longer called 'netbsd' but 'bsd', thus the installation
ends up being not bootable.
As the exit code of cp does not seem to be tested the
root partition get umounted short afterwards, so that you have
to remount it before you can even check things out.
