i send this to all 3 lists because i (and niklas) got a lot of queries
for this in the last time - so i hope anyone will get the information
...
i just want to let you know that i have uploaded a second "snapshot" of
OpenBSD/alpha to
miranda.rz-berlin.mpg.de:/pub/OpenBSD/alpha/970113
it contains a complete snapshot of the system but is still missing a
miniroot - so you need either a NetBSD miniroot or a running NetBSD
system or you can also use the miniroot from the last OpenBSD/alpha
snapshot
miranda.rz-berlin.mpg.de:/pub/OpenBSD/alpha/961210
to install it - the miniroot will follow in the next days - but
i know that i won't have the time for it in the next 2-3 days - so i
wanted to get at least this snapshot out that someone who knows what
to do can start with OpenBSD/alpha - so this is not really intended for
the "end user" - more for the interested develloper :-)
so far OpenBSD/alpha runs fine (i have it running on a udb (multia) -
but it should also run fine on all the other NetBSD/alpha supported
systems - if you like to run X on it (currently only on the udb
(multia)) - you can get the NetBSD/alpha X11 from their ftp servers
... but there's also a lot of work to be done on OpenBSD/alpha - so
come on and help us ... :-)
as soon as i get the miniroot ready i'll upload this snapshot to the
usual OpenBSD ftp servers
... anything forgotten ? - i hope not - if you have any questions
simply send me a mail ...
... and not to forget: lots of thanks to niklas - who has done most of
the "deeper" work on OpenBSD/alpha
t
p.s.: ... just to let you know - i'll try to bring all my local
changes for compiling OpenBSD/alpha withing the next 3-4 days
into the OpenBSD tree - so that you then can rebuild your system
easily - also niklas has lot's of changes to commit ...
