driver development etc.

Just browsing through want.html got me thinking. I have (for example)
a couple of 82596 ethernet cards here, and all considered it would
be cheaper in general for me to put these into a machine on my
network and give trusted people full access to that hardware, rather
than ship these things all over the world and incur the costs of
shipping (and the recipient tax).

I (my company actually) am very happy to set up a development network
of platforms and act as pairs of hands, within timezone contraints,
for various things, and I was wondering if anyone else would be
interested in doing similar things in other geographical locales.

In the immediate term, this might make things more awkward for
delevlopers, and I know that some projects require physical access
to hardware, and that some people would not be able to work this
way - but who remembers ref.tfs.com ? Worked well at the time.

We have various bits of hardware here that are just sitting around,
including a very nice, very cheap PCI V.90 modem card, an SS10 and
SS2 with various cards, a MicroVAX 3100 etc. that is just sitting
here looking lonely, but for various reasons (including the fact
that US "donation" type tax breaks *DO NOT EXIST* here) will not
leave the ownership of the company.

This is an offer, and comments from certain blunt and pessimistic
individuals, are not welcome. Constructive suggestions welcome. We
might even be willing to invest in remote power / serial access
devices to drive this stuff "out of hours".

Regards,
