I'm seeing the same problem here.

2.4/i386 with CVS update from Jan 19. Pentium 2/333MHz. dmesg
and kernel config available on request.

Logins already active across the network (via ssh) echo keystrokes
back but no more. Some ports respond, some do not. Happens around
once-twice a week since installation - I haven't managed to track
it to any specific activity, though a colleague has noticed it's
happened several times while he's been reviewing logfiles, but
other times have been while the machine was doing nothing more
than shuffling mail via smtpd/sendmail.

Console (which is a serial port) echoes back the first carriage
return entered and then locks solid.
