Thanks for the info.  Scary.  I owned myself.

I tried it on my 3.0 Generic box and it choked it to death.  I'm 
rebooting it now.  Man, this sucks.

How do I learn more about the operating system at a low level so I can 
better understand and perhaps help rectify problems such as this?
