That's correct.  I needed to use the 2.9 floppy.

It was an install,  not an upgrade,  but I would expect that the packages
would just install w/o needing changes from an install script..

I hade the same problems.  I will try booting from console to see if I can
log any better,  but I think it still reboots w/o any debugging
information..

I agree,  but it should at least be able to boot if it's a snapshot.  :)
