VMware on FreeBSD

Summarized, this guy got VMware (http://www.vmware.com) to run on FreeBSD
(currently VMware runs on Linux only, and when I went to install it, it
seemed that kernel modifications were needed to put the icing on the
cake...)  ANYHOW.. This guy has it running on FreeBSD.. I gave it a shot 
moving it over to OpenBSD, but I'm not a big ports guy.  It (seems) like
it would mainly involve re-writing some Makefiles and a couple of install
scripts, but I could be wrong.

Has anyone tried their hand at this yet?  (Yes, I realize it's been
released for less than a month)  I'm anxious to remove my Windows machine
from my desk! (work forces me to run Microsoft Outlook)
