Would really apreciate help

Attempting to install navigator port on a i386
I enter the command >make FETCH_SYMLINK_DISTFILES=YES
then the system hangs after afew lines of messages and the like.
I'm using a CD version of the ports tree from a 2.5 cd.

the script that runns says there is a good link with the netscape ftp site
the last two command that seem successfull are :

550 
pub/communicator/4.5/english/unix/unsupported/bsdi21/navigator_standalone: 
No such file or directory.
Retrieving 
pub/communicator/4.5/english/unix/unsupported/bsdi21/navigator_standalon  
e/navigator-v45-export.x86-bsdi-bsd2.tar.gz

then the process hangs after the next line:
local:navigator-v45-export.x86-bsdi-bsd2.tar.gz remote: 
navigator-v45-export.x86-bsdi-bsd2.tar.gz

Please help and thanks -- this is a non-custom kernal. I am a newbei so I'm 
trying to keep it simple. If this is not the simple browser software then 
pls tell me.
