I think you're right, I was just trying to piggy-back - your port is
definitely the cleaner to go about what I'm doing.

It works fine for me, with the exception of not installing the c-client.a
library in /usr/local/lib. If it could do that, it would be functionally
perfect (and allow me to build the PHP IMAP module using packages and
package dependencies, my next goal here)
It might also be nice to note the final installation step necessary: the
addition of entries to /etc/inetd.conf. My hack/port had that already
(using an pkg/INSTALL script), so you might be able to re-use it.
Its definitely better to not have the Pine baggage in it though - good
call-
