Re: mozilla/bloatzilla users please test

i'm going to be completely irrational and blame the hard disk crash
i just suffered on this port. ;) FYI, SMART didn't report anything
wrong, either.

so. the installer won't run unless it can rummage around in
$LOCALBASE/mozilla-firebird. that can be remedied by a symlink.

regchrome crashed for me, so i ran ldconfig to add in all off
the shared library, plugin and component paths and that seemed
to help the next time i tried to install.

mozilla-firebird stores it's settings in ~/.phoenix. not unreasonable
but if i'm joe user, i'm wondering where all my bookmarks and settings
have gone. might want to print out a message to that effect.

i don't like using firebird. it makes some assumptions about my
browsing that i can't turn off. for example, i typed "loginnet"
into the location bar to bring up the hotmail login page. my
history drops down and there's the item i need. so i control-enter
on it to open it in a new tab, and firebird promptly does this:
	s,(http://some/valid/url/),http://www.$1.com,
which does not do what i want. sure, i could probably turn that
off after digging around in the preferences file but that's more
work. it surprised me.

once i'd "accepted" these quirks, i could browse usefully with
firebird, so it's not a complete loss. oh, one more thing. both
bloatzilla and firebird take just as long to start up for me.
i don't have time(1) numbers, because my disk died, but it did
not feel any faster using firebird.

GDB has a 'break' feature; why doesn't it have 'fix' too?
