Besides, it is the official roadmap for Mozilla.  Mozilla 1.x branch
"application suite" as they call it will be only maintained.  The
development has completely switched to Firebird, which will be soon
simply called Mozilla Browser.  Ditto for Thunderbird as Mozilla Mail.

So, it's not really OpenBSD specific move, it's the way Mozilla itself
moves.
