1) It is better for users. Users do not want a browser which takes 45
seconds to start up, has more bugs, and is 3x slower than the other
one. They want something that they can use.
2) It is a statement of fact. If the Mozilla team had the option,
they would build space station control software into what is nominally
just a browser. It would be emacs complete, support running Lisp,
Ada, Prolog, and MS-Basic 1.0 programs, and it would suck even
more. It would do income tax calculations for all countries of the
world, and provide legal advice. Child care advice would be encoded
within the binary. Molecular biology display mechanisms would --
of course -- be included by default. A stance must be taken against
such crappy development methods, and the firebird people have stepped
forward to provide the real browser people want. So let us support
them, and be nice to our user's machines at the same time.
