you can, but they wont get in and they probably wont get a lot of
examination. instead, focus your efforts on installing the ports from the
current ports tree and ensuring that they work as expected (ie
dependencies, paths, etc ...). also look at packages from the snapshots,
make sure that those install cleanly and work correctly. try them on as
many architectures as you can find your way into. try things like moving
$LOCALBASE from /usr/local to something else ...
