PHP pcntl_signal

Has anyone got signal handling to work in the PHP process control module? In
both the 3.1-stable port (4.1.2) and 4.3-cvs versions  it's happy to compile
it in and use commands from it (running in CLI mode), but it doesn't act on
signals that I send it after setting them up with pcntl_signal. Pcntl_fork
works, but I don't seem to be having any success with signals.
Is there some oddness about the way signals work on OpenBSD that would
prevent this from working?
