I use mutt/IMAP in a minimal fashion, and for that it works fine.

Haven't seen any complaining yet.
Many of the programs we have in the ports tree that are still under
active development have stable/snapshot branches. In general, we
certainly don't want to import both, we just go with the stable
branch. Individual projects may deserve an exception. Does mutt?
