well, there is a loophole in

http://cr.yp.to/slashpackage/management.html

where it says "as well as in /usr/local/bin for compatibility" when
talking about the location of symlinks so people can still execute
binaries.

So, under a "slashpackage" system, one is assumed to litter
/usr/local/bin with symlinks to allow "brain-damaged" (in Dan's eye)
software to find the actual binaries.

So, if we leave the software in /usr/local/bin, we could argue that we
are trying to be "compatible" with OpenBSD.

This should cover most djb packages in our tree.
