3) is definitely ugly, 2) is OK, and so is 1).
Maybe it's best to use 2).
2) is best for dependencies like qtools and such i.e. you'll not have
to make a hack to install qtools from ports if /package is managed
through ports, but it's not "pretty".
I don't know, I was wondering how Camiel were going to do this, there's
no obviously superior way. :-)
Basically /package is really nice, it's just that all the world isn't
djbware.
