SPIM

Hello I just joined the list today so I could add this to the ports
tree. If this is not the standard way to communicate a request for an
addition to the ports tree feel free to yell at me and call me an idiot.

Hello I have recently gotten SPIM (ftp://ftp.cs.wisc.edu/pub/spim/)to
compile in OpenBSD. For those of you who have not read Computer
Organization & Design by David A. Patterson and John L. Hennessy, SPIM
is a simulator of the MIPS R2000/R3000 computers. Xspim is a x frontend
(i think it is a frontend altough I have not run it through ktrace yet)
for SPIM. I would love to see OpenBSD's devel section to include SPIM
and XSPIM as it is a very useful tool in both testing and in pedagocial
use. I also even though currently SPIM and XSPIM are in the same tarball
the user should not have to install XSPIM unless they want to. So I will
wait for a response to see how I can help expand the OpenBSD ports tree.
